New Feature: Collections
Last updated May 9, 2012
It's been pretty quiet here on the public side of the Gentlemint until today. Aside from adding Alex, we've been working on the nitty-gritty, behind-the-scenes aspects of Gentlemint that were initially glossed over when we built most of the site in 12 hours.
Since we've launched, one of the most requested features you all have sent us is a way to organize tacks. Today we're announcing a way to organize the tacks you post on Gentlemint.
We give you... Collections.
Starting today you can create a collection, or a grouping of tacks. Let's say you're a big fan of facial hair. You could create a collection dedicated to all things facial hair, and populate it with things like this and this, as well as any other tacks you deem appropriate.
There are currently two ways to add a link to a collection:
1. Adding a tack
Go to the add tack page, and a link as usual. After finding the right picture, you'll see a drop down to assign the link to a collection. Specify the collection there, or add it inline likes so:
2. Saving a tack
Let's say you see a tack that you'd like to save to your mint. Save it as normal, and specify (or add a new) a collection.
Easy peasy. And finally, to see your collections you can go to your mint, and click the helpful link "Collections".
We'll be making this feature more robust in the near future--trust me, we're only scratching the surface here--but this is a big step in the right direction to making Gentlemint more useful.
Thanks for your patience and support as we continue to crank out more useful features. And as always, you can contact us with feedback by using the link at the bottom of the page or emailing us at howdy @ gentlemint.com.
